So you want to personalise your phone with a theme like the ones you’ve seen on Pinterest but think you can’t because you’re on iphone? Think again. A little while back, apple finally made it possible for us to customise our phones with the help of a fab little app called Widgetsmith.

Widgetsmith allows you to create custom widgets for your iPhone's home screen. You can choose from a variety of widget designs and It's a great way to add a personal touch to your phone's interface. Many designers now make ios app themes on places like Etsy and you can fully customise your phone to suit your own vibe instead of settling for a boring cookie-cutter phone that looks like everyone else's.

Widgets are a great way to help you incorporate mindfulness into your day - you can have widgets with words of encouragement and inspiration, or even simple reminders to breathe and look away from your screen. Installing them may seem a little intimidating, but it’s really not that difficult.

How to install custom widgets on your iphone

1. Save the images to your camera roll
   

2. Download Widgetsmith from the Appstore and open it up
   

3. Select add on the size of widget you want to use on your screen
   

4. from the menu, tap selected photo, then choose photo and navigate to the image you want to use
   

5. Tap back and hit save
   

6. On your homescreen, press and hold, tap the + on the top right and search for Widgetsmith. Choose the size widget you want and place it where you want it on your screen.

   
   

How to install custom wallpapers on your iphone

1. Save the images to your camera roll
   

2. Open up your photos, navigate to the image you want. Tap the up arrow on the bottom left of the screen. Scroll down to use as wallpaper and choose your settings

   
   

How to install custom icons on your iphone

1. Save the icons to your camera roll

2. Open the shortcuts app

3. Tap the + icon on the top right

4. Select add action

5. Type open app in the search bar for apps and actions

6. Scroll down and hit open app

7. Tap the word app which is highlighted in blue (see pic above) next to 'open' to open up a new window where you can choose the app you want to customise. Choose your app from the list that comes up.

8. On the bottom right of your screen, tap the share button (blue square with an arrow pointing up) & hit add to home screen.

9. Select the grey photo icon on the left and then choose photo.

10. Select the image you want to use from your camera roll and hit choose on the bottom left.

11. Tap add and done.

And that's it. Your shiny new app icon will now be waiting for you on your homescreen!
