Your brand is your story

Stories are important to everyone. To you, to Mr Smith down the road, and to me. They are how we tell others who we are, what we do, and where we came from. People subconsciously absorb a lot of information through visuals and make a lot of assumptions based on them. Stories are important to brands now more than ever, to establish trust and a rapport between businesses and clients/customers. Stories are not just told through words: fonts, colour and imagery all have a lot to say too. I love researching, concepting, brainstorming, and bouncing ideas around with clients and colleagues. I'm a big picture thinker and like to get a 'vibe' or a vision first, and then delve into how that filters down throughout the rest of the brand - working on the elements as a whole rather than in isolation to form a complete picture and build a brand where  everything fits together seamlessly - as if it was there all along

 

The simplest stories are often the best ones.  By stripping the essence of who you are to bones, and making them beautiful, you are able to communicate who you are and what you do in a way that is incredibly targeted and effective, so you make sure you create the impression you want to, and the moment someone sees your brand, without knowing why, they feel like they know you.

 

I may be a 'brand focussed designer', but above all, I'm a storyteller. I went to uni to study stories, and I tell them through my art and photography, my work and my performance. I love working with clients to translate their brand's personality into honest visuals that connect with customers on an emotional  level. I work best with  brands who focus  on authenticity, quality, sincerity and sustainability.
